EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORPS (ESC)
WHAT IS ESC (European Solidarity Corps)
The ESC (European Solidarity Corps) is a free international volunteer programme, funded by the European Commission, which allows all young people legally resident in Europe, aged between 17 and 30, to carry out an international volunteer experience in an organisation (private or a public) in Europe and in the Euro-Mediterranean and Caucasus countries, for a period ranging from 3 weeks to 12 months.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
ESC provides for reimbursement of travel expenses (up to a ceiling to be verified according to the country of destination) and full coverage of board and lodging costs, provided by the course host organisation. There is also a monthly pocket-money quota reserved for each volunteer and expressly indicated by the programme on the basis of the country of service.
WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS OF SUCH AN EXPERIENCE?
Thanks to its intercultural dimension and non-formal approach, it is a unique opportunity to come into contact with cultures other than one’s own and to acquire new skills and abilities useful for one’s personal and professional growth.
